Local Projects
Some of the annual local projects of the Rome Rotary Club include:
- Roses for the Living Dinner - recognizes and celebrates a community   volunteer who has made a significant contribution to the community.
- Student Scholarships - awarded to community service -oriented local students.
- Teacher of the Year - a teacher is recognized each year and is given a monetary award to assist him or her with a classroom project.
- 4th of July Community Ceremony - at the Tomb of the Unknown Revolutionary War Soldiers
- Christmas Party for Children - Disadvantaged children receive a coat, hat, boots, gloves, a toy or two, and a personal visit with Santa.
- Christmas Party for the Elderly - at the Residential Nursing Facility at the Rome Memorial Hospital.
- Halloween Parade and Party - ensuring a safe and memorable celebration for children
- Literacy projects - promoting literacy among our students, providing thesauruses or dictionaries, or tutoring
- Meal deliveries on Christmas Day and Thanksgiving Day - from the Rome Welcome Hall to area shut -ins.
- Canalfest - a family -oriented festival with entertainment, food, fun, and fireworks held at Bellamy Park on the historic Erie Canal.
